What’s New: Shopify Finance

If you’re missing the Shopify “Payouts section in your menu, no, you haven’t imagined things— Shopify moved things around when it recently launched Shopify Finance.

With this update, Shopify has relocated all finance-related matters - Shopify Capital, Credit, Balance, and Tax under one dashboard.

So, now you’ll have to go to Finance > Payouts to find your pending/historical payouts. Here’s what the new addition looks like in my store:

So far, the temperature around this update seems negative. Some Shopify sellers have reported delayed payouts (5 business days vs. 1 previously), and others find more clicks to find things annoying.

Shopify says that merchants now have quicker access to capital, and funds, but clearly, that doesn’t seem to be the case. If you’re looking for other funding sources, check out this spreadsheet.

🎯 Weekly Challenge: Refine Your BFCM Ads

Take an hour this week to go over your BFCM ad creatives with a fine-tooth comb. Think about:

  • What’s resonated most with your audience?

  • Are your best performers ready for a BFCM facelift?

  • Requesting warehouse images to share with your audience.

While focusing on your paid ads, don’t sleep on organic traffic. Use Plug In SEO to scan your store and find out what’s stopping you from getting organic traffic.
