Postal drama on China shipments

The U.S. Postal Service sent retailers on a rollercoaster last week - first halting, then resuming parcel shipments from China and Hong Kong after Trump axed a key duty exemption.

What’s happening? The “de minimis” exemption (that lets Chinese retailers ship goods under $800 duty-free) is GONE.

While CBP (Customs & Border Protection) scrambled around to figure out how to collect new tariffs, some shipments were held at JFK Airport indefinitely. USPS briefly stopped, then resumed accepting parcels from China and HongKong post. FedEx has now also dropped its money-back guarantee on international shipments due to uncertainty.

What does this mean for you? If you source from China, expect delays as this mess is sorted. Allow for longer lead times. Review your pricing as new tariffs could increase your costs.

Also, now’s the perfect time to source from the US. Get started with:

  • Jubilee (white-labeled beauty products drop shipped from the US)

  • Spocket (various US suppliers)

  • Printify (create your own clothes, household goods, accessories, etc with US suppliers

Growth Hack: Use Giveaways to get free leads

Running a giveaway is the fastest way to grow your audience & engagement.

Giveaways are a tested, trusted strategy that works across various niches, and prizes can range from collaborative prizes to your own products.

Prints Giclee Shop, for example, gained 200 leads by running a giveaway in collaboration with a brick-and-mortar art store.

“We partnered with a local art supply store for a collaborative giveaway, offering art supplies alongside our print services. This drew over 200 participants and expanded our reach into the art community” - Gerardo Gonzalez-Quevedo, Master Printer, Prints Giclee Shop

In the tech niche, a security camera store used social media giveaways to increase engagement by 15%. Brad Besner SCK, President, Security Camera King explains “….we organized a "Spot the Camera" social media challenge where participants identified hidden cameras in store photos. This not only boosted engagement but also increased our followers by 15% in a month.”

You, too can run a themed giveaway and get more traffic to your store, while growing your social media following at the same time.

Beetroot powder is marketed as a superfood that boosts circulation, improves stamina, and aids recovery…making it a hit among fitness lovers and health-conscious consumers.

How you can cash in:
