🛒 Conversion rate sucks? Here’s why

So your traffic campaign killed it, but did your visitors convert or did they exit without buying? If they exited, don’t get demoralized—fix your landing page. Here's why it’s probably the most likely culprit:

1. Negative First Impression: The human attention span lasts about 8 seconds. If your page isn’t engaging enough to grab attention in 8 seconds, shoppers leave with a negative impression before a chance to engage.

2. Low Trust Signals: Research says that 75% of us judge a company's credibility by its website design. If your store design doesn’t signal credibility, visitors ‘smell a rat’ and exit.

3. Poor Communication: Your headlines, product descriptions, calls to action, all tell customers what to expect. If this information isn’t clear, they’ll leave.

4. Site speed: 2024 is not the year to wait longer than 5 seconds for a page to load. If your site loads too slowly, your buyers lose interest and bounce before you can say “Check this out”

🛠️How to Go From “Meh” to Conversion Machine

How Shopify sellers optimized their landing pages (with results)

30% ⬆️ conversions in 30 days with multiple steps

Forge, a Shopify Partner agency, increased a store’s conversion rate by:

  1. Redesigning landing pages as part of an overall site rebrand

  2. Using professional product photos featuring real people interacting with products

  3. Adding social proof

  4. Using copy to answer buyer’s decision questions, among others

30% conversion rate ⬆️with intuitive navigation

The game changer for Black and Ginger's landing page was intuitive navigation. Bamoozz (the agency in charge) created a user-friendly interface that helped visitors to find products effortlessly, with a seamless flow from the landing page to product pages.

Simpler Navigation

Founder and Director, Sharon Chung thinks the change increased conversions because easier site navigation improved the user experience. According to her, the intuitive design reduced bounce rates, increased time on site, and boosted conversion rates by 30%.

What’s the future for AI generated videos?

AI-generated videos (which allow you create videos using text, audio or video files) will grow to a $1.08bn market in 2027.

It’s easy to see why. Our appetite for video content keeps growing and AI generated videos don’t require specialized equipment, editing studios, or massive amounts of editing time.

As a Shopify seller, the best way to leverage AI generated videos is by using it to create “how-to” videos for your products – as these show the highest consumption trend (28.5% of internet users).

⏰ 60-minute challenge

What can you do in 60-minutes or less this week to improve your sales by 1%?

This week, carry out a mini-landing page audit and test 1 change.

  • Review your navigation menu. Can your customers easily find what they need?

  • Change your headline. Is it clear enough?

  • A/B test your CTA buttons. Does “Get Yours Today” work better than  “Shop Now”?

Pilates Socks

Demand for pilates socks is growing. “Tavi Pilates socks” has seen a 4400% increase in searches over 24 months. A  top-selling pair of grip socks makes around $80K/month on Amazon.

You too can jump on the trend by:

  • Testing pilates socks with different POD designs

  • Testing grip socks for niche audiences - girls grip socks, soccer grip socks, dance grip socks, grip socks for toddlers, or even bamboo grip socks (as per last week’s trend).

📊 Results are in!
