🚨 Demiminis Exemption: How Biden’s Plan Affects You
If you’re a US-based dropshipper and haven’t already heard, the Biden-Harris administration has proposed limiting the types of goods that you can ship US customers without taxes or duties. (aka the de minimis exemption).
Here’s what you need to know:
Products covered by certain tariffs will no longer qualify for the de minimis exemption. For those that qualify, merchants would be required to provide more data, like personal information, tariff classification numbers, and Certificates of Compliance, for these goods to enter the U.S.are implemented
Next Steps: The administration is pushing for Congress to pass reform legislation by December 2024. Start reviewing your import procedures now and work with your suppliers and 3PLs to ensure compliance if these changes make it through.

Of course I dug deeper.
Entered the store’s URL into Ahrefs to see if this was a one-off and suprise, it wasn’t. This store strategically uses blog posts to answer customer questions like “Which is healthier, A or B?”, redirecting customers to its blog posts where it plugs links to its store!
Clever! Plus, it also has Plug In SEO installed, which tells me that someone has been intentional about optimizing product pages, collection pages, and blog pages.
If you’re overlooking your Shopify blog, this is a wake-up call to stop sleeping on this asset, which could potentially reduce your long-term ad spend.

Choose blog topics that focus on how your content connects to the products you sell. Some ideas:
